Become a Companion of the Institute

Call for IHM Companionship Nominations

In 2003 the IHM National Council approved a new award of Companionship of the Institute.  This prestigious award would only be available to a maximum 3% of the membership, currently 76 active members are companions.  The following criteria must be met:

Members:

• A member of the Institute, in any of the approved categories for a period of not less than 10 years continuous membership.
• Have made a significant and sustained contribution to the Institute for a period normally of not less than 5 years.

In addition, non-members may be nominated who have:

• Made a significant and sustained contribution to the profession of management, with the contribution having a direct relevance to healthcare management.

All nominations must:

• Have a completed nomination form
• Be supported by two referees
• In addition are supported by a comment from the Chair of their Regional/Divisional Council
