Trudy works as the Patient Affairs Officer at West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust.  She has been nominated for her compassionate service and her willingness to go that extra mile.  In her four years in post, Trudy has continually sought to improve the care which the trust offers to the deceased and their families.  With limited resources Trudy often takes on extra responsibilities to avoid unnecessary distress; for example arranging meetings between grieving relatives and the medical consultant who cared for the deceased.  Patient Affairs is a particularly delicate area and great skill is needed to balance the conflicting needs.  Trudy was also the overall winner of the Unsung Heroes & Heroines Award 2008.  An article was published in the Bury Free Press commending Trudy, the full article can be found here.
