Membership of the IHM is a recognition of commitment to the IHM’s standards and its Healthcare Management Code. It gives the member, recognition as a member of a community of professional healthcare managers committed to improvement and excellence in healthcare.
The IHM believes that healthcare will only get better if all professions within it work together as a cohesive team. One of the strengths of the Institute lies in the range of expertise and experience of its members and the fact that the ultimate goal is shared by all - improved services for patients.
Eligibility
Within the IHM, there is a place for every kind of healthcare manager who meets its eligibility criteria and is committed to its purpose.
Current members come from:
Primary care, secondary care, mental health and community care including chief executives, middle managers and students.
All sectors, whether public, private or voluntary.
Many kinds of organisations, including Primary Care Organisations, Local Healthcare Cooperatives, NHS Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities and Boards, independent consultancies, private and voluntary organisations throughout the service.
