IHM wish to apologise to all members and non members who are users of these programmes and whose studies have been interrupted by Orkell Ltd being placed in the hands of a liquidator.
User data
Unfortunately a by product of this collapse is that we do not hold details of individual learners who have subscribed to the Orkell scheme unless they have opted to send details of results and usage to IHM as the chosen Professional Body.
We have not been supplied with any user data by Orkell and it appears unlikely that we will be getting anything further in this regard. Where we have your details IHM will continue to notify directly all those affected by this and through the website if we do not.
Progress and re-launch
I am pleased to report a high degree of progress in re-establishing these programmes for the use of our members and our corporate customers.
As from Tuesday the 16th December 2008, 10 of the original 12 programmes may be accessed from this web page. However in order to provide you with a degree of the reporting facility which was so important to the Orkell system I need IHM members to use the membership number in the organisation box of the short registration form as this will allow us to collate any CPD points earned against your regsitration and membership.
For corporate purchasers I am issuing each organisation with a code based on your name which should be entered by your learners in the organisation box as above. This will enable us to provide you with completion reports for all users within your organisation.
I am also alerting you all to the fact that we are unable to reissue passwords and we advise that you keep a secure copy of your password as in the event of loss or missplacement you will have to reregister for the programme.
Given the lack of service that has resulted from the Orkell collapse I am also extending the period of these corporate access arrangements till the end of December 2009 without further charge.
I would ask that any organisation which has not paid money to Orkell for this service please pay these fees to IHM by contacting us at education@ihm.org.uk
