Welcome
May I take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Gloria Middleton and I am a Managing Partner at Westbourne Medical Group which is a three site practice in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear. So yes you have guessed it ‘Mackem Land’ but don’t let that put you off. I officailly started the post in November 2006.
What I hope to achieve in my first year is to establish a forum that will allow me to take your views back to HQ. For you to have your say as a valued IHM Member and hopefully for you to be well informed as to where I have been and what I have being doing/attending on behalf of IHM.
A newsletter is produced quarterly and we welcome any comments you may have. Due to requests concerning primary care matters from members, we now have a dedicated page from Crutes Solicitors and RMT Accountants.
I believe that things are moving ahead at headquarters with the changes to the Management Structure and Executive Board led by Sue Hodgetts.
I am attending quite a few meetings and have asked if the minutes can be posted onto our website. Keep looking into the documents section.

Darren Pritchard was nominated as Vice-Chair November 2006.
A wee bit about myself Born & raised as a “Sand dancer” (from South Shields), I have worked within the NHS for 24 years since I was 17. Started career at South Tyneside General Hospital within the Debtors Section and have been involved in the inevitable cycle of change and reform working within the Finance Departments of HA’s / FPC / FHSA / Health Commission and PCG’s within the Gateshead and South Tyneside area.
Within the latter part of 2000 moved away from my position as a Management Accountant at the PCG/T to a Business Manager of a primary care Gateshead GP practice. I have to say that I am one of those people who loves the job that they do.
